Fockers @ AJ’s (rec)
Fresh off of their win over the Chargers last week, the Ajs (rec) were looking to continue their winning ways. If it wasn’t for time, this may have been the case. The Fockers started off strong, up by 9 runs after 3 innings. Their defense started to break down with the AJ’s scoring 10 runs in the last 2 innings, leaving the bases loaded with their final out, a line drive caught by the pitcher.
MVPs for the Fockers – Brittany (for shutting down any aggressive running home and overall play) and Derick (for strong pitching and defense)
MVPs for the AJs (rec) – Mhairi (for some excellent catches in the outfield) and Chris (for his 2 home runs).
Next up? Fockers take on the Highland Chargers in a challenge for the top spot and AJs (rec) take on the Rocks.

Fockers @ Rocks
The only problem with tournaments is that, if you are not used to playing them, the next week hurts. A lot. The Rocks were already down a player and carrying some injuries starting the game and lost another during it to bring them down to 9 players for the last few innings. Even so, they kept it a close game with the difference being the 6 run inning the Fockers put up in the second. It certainly felt a closer game than the score line suggested.
MVPs for the Fockers were Sara (for her defence on 2) and Derick (for his hitting and pitching).
MVPs for the Rocks were Flip (for her defense and leadership) and Eric (for some superb catches in outfield).
Up next? The Rocks take on the Highland Chargers and the Fockers take on AJs (rec).

Fockers @ Highland Chargers
This was a very close match to end the first half of the season between two teams that have had very close matches over the years. It featured some excellent defence by the Chargers and good defence from the Fockers with their couple of small errors making a large difference. The Chargers got in front on the first and just kept there but either team could have been 1 big inning from the win. Unfortunately for the Fockers this was not to be and the 7 inning game was done within an hour.
MVPs for the Fockers were Novalia (for excellent defence at 2) and Alan (for providing almost 1/2 of the Fockers runs scored).
MVPs for the Highland Chargers were Jenny (for all round defence and offence) and Scott (for his rally killing catch at 3).
